Massachusetts has the lowest divorce rate of all the United States.
A study conducted by the National Center for Health Statistics found that couples who marry before the bride is 19 years old have a 50% chance of divorcing or separating within ten years. By contrast, couples who marry when the bride is 25 or older are only half as likely to split up.
In the United States, about 50% of first marriages end in divorce. 80% of people who get divorced will remarry within five years.
Until its congress passed a new law in 2004, Chile was the only country in the Western Hemisphere to prohibit divorce.
